Everyone remembers how inviting and comforting it was to come down to the rug and listen to a story in elementary school. It broke up the monotony of sitting at a desk all day and allowed students to relax and lose themselves in a story. Help us continue this great condition with a rug for our room!
I teach at a Title 1 school in Florida.
Many of my students receive free and reduced lunch. I teach an amazing group of eager learners that are currently in first grade, but will be looping up with me to second grade. We have built a wonderful classroom culture and your donations will help strengthen our learning environment.
My Project
The wonderful design of this rug allows for a designated sitting space for 20 students. This will not only be a comfy place for story time! The rug serves many curricular purposes as well. The design reinforces students' respect for each other's personal space, allows for quick partnering in collaborative activities, and lends itself to many classroom procedures and activities from morning meetings to dismissal. It truly is an essential piece to a busy and engaged primary classroom.
This rug is as essential to my classroom routine as having desks and chairs.
