Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My 8th graders are full of energy, curiosity, and big ideas! But let’s be real sitting in stiff chairs all day isn’t exactly the best setup for learning. Some students need to move, some focus better when they can stand, and others just need a little flexibility to stay engaged. That’s why I’m excited to bring flexible seating into our classroom!
With rolling swivel chairs, adjustable stools, standing desks, and fidget bands, my students will have options that work for them.
The rolling chairs make it easy to collaborate, the stools let them wiggle while they work, the standing desks give them a break from sitting, and the fidget bands help students who need to move their legs while focusing. It’s all about giving them choices so they can do their best learning.
My goal? To create a classroom that works for my students, not the other way around. When they’re comfortable and able to move, they stay more engaged, participate more, and learn better. This setup will make a huge difference, especially for students who struggle with focus or just learn better when they’re not stuck in a traditional desk.
