This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Flexible seating options like stools, wiggle seats, and fidget bands are essential in my kindergarten classroom because they allow students to engage in active learning while promoting focus and comfort. Young children have a lot of energy, and traditional seating can sometimes make it difficult for them to stay focused for extended periods. By offering different seating choices, such as stools that allow for slight movement or wiggle seats that provide sensory feedback, students can channel their energy in ways that help them stay attentive and engaged in lessons, while preventing restlessness and distractions.

In addition, fidget bands are an excellent tool for students who need sensory input to maintain concentration.

These bands give children the ability to fidget quietly without disrupting the class, helping them regulate their attention and emotions. Flexible seating fosters a more inclusive learning environment by accommodating different learning styles and needs. It also encourages independence, as students are empowered to choose the seating that helps them learn best, leading to a more productive and positive classroom experience.
