it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As a new special education teacher for TK-2 students with autism, my goal is to create a classroom that supports each child’s unique learning and sensory needs. My students are bright, curious, and full of potential, but they often struggle with focus, regulation, and emotional comfort throughout the school day.
Having access to flexible, sensory-friendly seating can be a game-changer for young students with autism.
This project will help give my students the Lakeshore Flex-Space Washable Comfy Floor Seat, which provides soft, supportive, and easy-to-clean seating designed for flexible classroom use. For students with sensory sensitivities, a calm and comfortable seating option supports emotional regulation, reduces anxiety, and helps them feel safe enough to focus and learn.
My goal is to foster a learning environment where students can make choices about how they learn best—whether that’s sitting in a traditional chair, on the floor, or in a cozy flexible seat. By meeting their sensory and emotional needs, I can build their confidence, support their social-emotional growth, and help them engage more fully and independently in the learning process.
