My Students
"It's better to know how to learn than to know." Dr Seuss. In my classroom I engage my students in learning how to learn. However, for students who have a difficult time sitting still it is hard to be engaged in the learning.
My students are intelligent, creative, and have a desire to learn.
They are budding authors, scientists, mathematicians, and pastry chefs, just to name a few career choices. Many of my 5th grader's prefer to have movement while sitting, so they lean back in their chairs. This causes a safety concern as the chairs often break from this misuse, which can result in injury to the student. The solution to this problem is Hokki stools, because they are designed for movement!
My Project
The 3 Hokki stools I am requesting will be shared by my students, so all students will have access to this alternate seating choice. The ergonomic Hokki stools are designed with a convex base, so the students will be able to move while sitting engaged in the learning. They are the perfect solution to my difficult problem.
The ergonomic Hokki stools can be used throughout the different learning activities, allowing students to move while sitting engaged in the learning.
This engagement will increase their learning, as well as their self-confidence as learners.
