My Students

"Knock knock." "Who's there?" "Orange. I mean banana. No, orange." "Orange who?" "Wait, no, it was banana!" Kindergarten students make me laugh all day long. They laugh at silly jokes. They sing silly songs with me. They only minimally roll their eyes when I solve a math equation wrong accidentally on purpose.

Kindergarten is a melting pot of backgrounds, learning exposure, and abilities (academic, language, and social).

The range of levels is incredible. Being able to differentiate for each student is key to a kindergarten teacher. Having the right tools makes this possible.

My Project

Research shows that allowing students to sit in comfortable, flexible seating options greatly enhances their focus. With a fulfilled project, my classroom would change quite a bit. I would be able to offer my students a variety of seating options based on what best meets their needs.

Students love to be given opportunities to complete work in a way that meets all their needs-physical, emotional, intellectual, etc.

These options will allow them to become more comfortable, find a responsible working space and get the most out of our work times and classroom activities.

My students will be able to work with a seating option that allows them to focus and stay comfortable. Both of which are needed to produce quality work. Students that are 5 and 6 need more options! We put a lot of pressure on these kiddos at such a young age. Let's help take some of that pressure off.
