My Students
My class is from a small rural town in Mississippi where the school they attend doesn’t receive much funding. The school is old and many of the materials are too. The children are all from very low-income homes. The children all receive free lunch. Despite this, they are all filled with love and enjoy school.
My kindergarten students are happy and filled with stories to tell every day they enter my classroom and never would you know what little they have because their hearts are filled with more love than any money could buy.
My Project
Children need structure in order to learn. Children have to focus and be able to concentrate on the task at hand. New chairs in the classroom is needed for whole group time to keep children focused on what they are doing. Writing and concentration is a big focus standard for children. Teachers also need comfortable seating on which to concentrate one on one with students at the teacher table. With these new chairs we will be able to do so. The teacher and assistant and children will all have a comfortable seating area to work.
