This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a literacy specialist for grades K-5 at a low-income school in North Las Vegas. I work with students from all grade levels and support teachers with their reading instruction. The students I work with want to learn, they have just fallen behind due to the challenges and struggles with distance learning. I want to give them a learning space and learning materials equal to their desire to learn and become independent readers.
My Project
These stools will be used in combination with other wobble stools and floor seating I have to create a comfortable learning environment for my students. Students are allowed to choose their seating when they come to my room for small groups. I have students from k-5 grades, so it is often difficult to provide seating that works for the wide range of ages I support. Flexible seating promotes a comfortable learning environment and makes students excited to come and learn in my room. I am excited to use these with my students!
