My Students
Do you remember class meetings and lessons in elementary school taking place on a special, colorful rug? I want my students to have this experience too!
Bungalow 20, as we like to call ourselves, is an incredibly special class.
Our classroom is rich with diversity. 60% of students are English Language Learners-- 5 different languages are spoken in our classroom. Additionally, 80% of students in our class qualify for free and reduced lunch. Despite the challenges the students in my classroom face, they are a positive and resilient group. Each day they are excited to come to school and to learn.
My Project
Bungalow 20 holds class each day in an old portable building. The structure had only tile until two years ago when our school created a small rug area by taping down some extra carpet from a library remodel. This carpeted area is where our class hold most meetings and lessons. Unfortunately, the area is small, unpadded and not as conducive to structure as I'd like. The beautiful "A Place for Everyone" rug from Lakeshore would provide a welcoming, large and comfortable seating area that would allow for assigned seats. Students would have their own special spot to sit in each day.
Thank you so much for considering donating to Bungalow 20!
I'm positive the "A Place for Everyone" rug will provide both the comfort and classroom structure my second graders need!
