Giving students the ability to choose the seating environment in which they learn best allows for them to take ownership of their learning. When students are given the ability to choose what works best for them, motivation in the classroom skyrockets. Research shows that students who are engaged in their work are less disruptive. Furthermore, research displays a positive trend in achievement on academic testing when students are in control of their learning!
Flexible Seating allows me to create a classroom environment that meets the needs of ALL the students in my classroom.
With the encouragement of movement within my classroom, brain activity is increased, and learning takes place at high rates.
The use of these stools and seats in my classroom will allow students to not only choose the seating that best fits their needs, but it will allow for them to move during a variety of learning times without interrupting the learning of other students.
