This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are an exceptional group of learners who are educated in an Inclusion Model. They receive behavior and learning support services in both the general and special education setting. Although many of my students have positive interactions with their peers, their constant need to be in motion often distracts others from focusing.

In order for my students to release excess energy with minimal disturbances to the classroom environment, they need flexible seating options.

However, funding shortages within our district make it difficult to purchase such materials.

My Project

Incorporating wobble chairs within the classroom environment will minimize distractions and will encourage productivity.

Since many of my students often squirm in their seats, kick their desk legs, or stand up in effort to stay focused, wobble chairs will allow them to make similar movements in a seated position.

When the wobble chairs are paired with short breaks and chunked assignments, my students will be able to complete more complex tasks. In fact, constant requests to not make noises will be minimized because wobble chairs enable students to move in silence.

Ultimately, my students will experience both social and academic success with the use of wobble chairs.
