Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are energetic, bright, and excited to be at school and learning. The community is low-income and high poverty and most students do not go to preschool. Every child in the school receives free breakfast and lunch at the school. A large population are not native English speakers, and we work hard to teach them their numbers and letter sounds. In this classroom, we work hard on including others, resolving conflicts, and doing hard things. Character development is just as important as learning how to read and write.

My Project

I will make little glue containers for each student to have their own, baskets for their cubbies, and give each student their own pair of headphones and a pencil basket.. We have a lot of students who wiggle so the wiggle chair will help them to stay in their seat. I also want to get stuff that will make the students happy to play with like dinosaurs and dominoes. You wouldn't believe it but their favorite thing to play with at Oral Language Block is stacking paper cups into towers. They will love having new colorful cups to build even taller castles!
