Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I am a second grade teacher in the city of Chicago. There are many challenges that face my students each day. My students come from diverse backgrounds and are from low-income families. The majority of our families fall below the poverty level.
Despite all of this, I am lucky to be working with a group of students who are eager and motivated to learn.
Their eagerness motivates me to find new ways to improve instruction. The pride and excitement on their faces as they are growing as learners is very rewarding.
My Project
My students need more access to technology. In today's world, technology is a necessity in all classrooms. In order to increase my students' ability to use more technology, I need a new Chromebook.
A new Chromebook in my classroom will help my students have access to the internet.
This will allow them to research various topics of interest. It will also get them familiar with how to do research. I would love to allow my students to do more research but with our limited resources it is very difficult.
Thank you for considering the funding of this project. My students and I greatly appreciate it!
