My Students
I am a proud teacher of diverse learners in NYC's ASD NEST program. My students are special in so many ways---where do I begin?
My students light up when they are learning about a topic that they really connect with and even more so when a project impacts their lives.
Located in the diverse neighborhood of the East Village in NYC, my classroom is a true melting pot of cultures and abilities. Some of my students are advanced thinkers and self starters while others are learning to engage with schoolwork as well as their peers. Each student finds great joy and pride in learning new topics, but their methods and strategies can vary greatly.
As their teacher, my goal is to provide a learning environment where my students are engaged with inspiring projects and vibrant discussion.
My Project
This year is unlike any other in education. Teachers are learning to teach in entirely new ways to bridge the gaps in remote learning instruction. I am learning something new every day to help engage my students in this new digital classroom. I would like to take their learning to a whole new level and give them a brighter future in the digital world. I would like to teach them lessons that have seamless digital components right at their fingertips!
I will use the document camera, lighting technology, and TPT gift card to create dynamic lessons for my students who are choosing to remain home during this health crisis.
These read aloud videos and lessons will be archived on my Google Classroom so students can revisit them as often as needed. In addition many teachers will continue distance learning from their homes in the near future. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card allows me to access high quality resources when I'm away from my classroom. While working from my basement, the tripod light will help create clearer lighting to model assignments and anchor charts.
