My Project
These engineering and science kits will provide my students with hands-on experiences to explore key concepts of aviation and the forces of flight. These kits will enable students to experiment with thrust, lift, drag, and gravity in a tangible way. By building and launching rockets, assembling and flying kites, and testing parachutes, they will engage in the Engineering Design Process, reinforcing scientific inquiry, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
My goal is to foster a deeper understanding of how the forces of flight work, using real-world applications to make these abstract concepts accessible.
Students will also strengthen their collaboration and critical-thinking abilities as they refine their designs based on trial-and-error testing. This project will create an interactive, engaging learning environment where science comes to life.
What makes my students special is their boundless curiosity and eagerness to learn. Many of them come from under-resourced communities, where access to hands-on STEM materials is limited. Despite this, they are resilient and passionate about exploring new ideas. This project will give them the opportunity to experience the excitement of STEM and aviation, empowering them to see themselves as future engineers, scientists, and innovators. These kits will help make science and engineering come alive for them in a way that’s both meaningful and memorable.
