Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are high school aged children that volunteer their time after school for various activities. They enjoy sports medicine and often times stay after school to help their fellow students with medical care. They also spend time in our school garden, assisting with the daily operations inside our school garden and botany lab. These students are hard working, kind and above all, selfless. They are constantly helping others and pushing each other to do more to serve our school community.
My Project
My students are medical magnet students that volunteer after school to gain experience in sports medicine. They work as student aides in the Athletic Training Room here at school to learn important medical concepts that will prepare them for their future careers. These students need scrubs to wear while volunteering in the clinic. Professional attire is required in the medical field, and scrubs are worn commonly in hospitals and clinics across the country. Our students need to have scrubs to ensure that they learn the importance of professionalism, and their responsibility to attend clinical hours dressed appropriately. Our students do not have the funds to purchase their own scrubs, so this project will enable them to learn these important life lessons on professionalism.
