Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Have you ever tried to watch a video without speakers, or see a presentation on a tiny, dirty, broken screen? It's awful, and it makes learning so much harder. This new system will give everyone, even those in the back of the room, a new view of the lessons.

These students are all inspiring and aspiring to great things, but they've got a lot of challenges.

Many of them are from low income families, some are immigrants, and most of them will be the first in their families to go to college. They don't get the experiences and opportunities that kids in the suburbs enjoy, so being able to bring in some interesting and exciting activities for them is crucial to keeping them engaged and interested.

My Project

Being able to view lessons and watch instructional videos/presentations on a large, bright and functional screen will help so much. The projector is stuck on a cart that takes up valuable floor space (right in the middle of an aisle). My room is very long, but narrow - so kids sitting in the back have a lot of trouble seeing the screen. That means the students at the sides and back of the room can't make out what is being presented. This makes it hard to take notes, watch presentations, etc.

My students need to be able to see and hear clearly what is being presented.

My classroom doesn't have a good screen (what I do have is broken, dirty and tiny) or speaker system. This new system will let all the students see and hear what's going on, no matter where they sit.
