My Project
The Yoto listening center will provide students with appropraite devices that encourage reading on all levels. Students will be able to listen and follow along in their book to engage with stories, develop and build a love for reading while fostering listening and comprehension skills. By offering a screen-free environment, I aim to enhance the learning experience and support diverse learning styles.
I want to grow and develop foundational and higher level literacy skills for a wide range of reading levels.
Many of our students come from diverse backgrounds, and some may have limited access to books at home. A listening center will provide them with access to a variety of stories, enabling them to explore literature in an interactive and enjoyable way. Furthermore, the benefits of listening to stories include improved vocabulary, enhanced comprehension, and increased motivation to read. It will also allow students a safe place to read/listen while building their reading stamina.
