My Students

I try to make gym time something that all my students look forward to, not just that day but until the next time I get to see them!

I teach in a public school that services students in grades K-8.

They are from all different types of families, religions, races, and social classes. They are all eager to learn and love coming to school. Some of my students are even foster children.

My Project

Both the lower and upper grade students will be able to utilize the foam hockey sticks for scooter hockey. I envision hosting scooter hockey tournaments for the students during gym time, as well as a Fun Friday activity! The kids absolutely love playing scooter hockey, but the plastic blades we have are old, brittle, and have been breaking under normal use.

This will also help me maximize participation in relays so that I have no more than three students in a group.

Less waiting time means more activity time! I know the kids will absolutely love it! This project will reach all 440 students I teach! The addition of scooters will help us expand our comprehensive Physical Education Program and help students getting active while learning at the same time!
