This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
While we often think about the academic skills students need to be successful, we sometimes forget the muscle strength and memory that are necessary to develop those skills!
Strong abdominal muscles support neat and easy writing, the ability to sit comfortably, and balance!
My Kindergarten students need opportunities to develop their core strength to support their academic growth (and to have some fun)! So I am asking for scooter boards. Scooter boards are small, flat boards with four wheels. When students use them, they are challenged to use their abdominal muscles to power the board in the direction they want to go. They also have a wonderful time cheering each other on, getting better at scooting, and playing fun games on wheels.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
