My students need paper goods in order to serve faculty their "Scoops of Love".
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. T.'s classroom raised $252
This project is fully funded
Recently a faculty member at our high school died suddenly. He was a business teacher, but previously had been a owner of an ice cream shop. To raise funds for a scholarship in his name our Family and Consumer Science Department is sponsoring "Scoops of Love", a make your own sundae event for the faculty.
The students in our 3rd year foods class(11 and 12th graders)will do the following:
*prepare several syrups & toppings
*pre-scoop ice cream into cups
*serve faculty
In the past our department has held a school-wide Chili Cook-Off, Empty Bowls Luncheon, and a Tasting with local restaurants. These events which include the entire school community are always a success. Many of the lessons learned are intangible. Students learn respect, responsibility and what it means to be part of a team. Teachers get to see students in an entirely different light.
Our event is scheduled for December 4th. We are seeking a donation of paper goods in order to serve the faculty.
I will be happy to have students write thank you card and submit pictures of the faculty members enjoying their sundaes. However, our school district will not permit me to include pictures of students.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
