Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Summer is upon us and many of my students will lose the resources they were given during their time of distance learning. Some students are able to attend summer school online while others are doing worksheets to review from the school district.
My Project
Science is typically a favorite for 5th graders, but now that we are all online, they are either watching me do an experiment or watching a video on a science topic. By participating in experiential learning, students gain more knowledge and most importantly, retain it. In the 5th grade, students are tested in math, language arts, and...science!
With these science kits, students can get their hands dirty with all of the materials they need!
I will be able to print worksheets and questions to go along with their experiments to guide them through the learning at home. I also threw in some hands-on vocabulary activities to continue working their language and literacy while at home. This project will provide learning opportunities so that students are able to continue learning in a motivating way even though they are stuck at home.
