My students need six sets of science theme books to add to our classroom library.

My Students
My students are SUPER--super scientists and super readers!
I teach in a suburban elementary school in Southeast Michigan.
The school I work at has a very transient population. Due to the rental homes and low income housing, we register new students almost daily.
A majority of the students I service come from families where English is not their native language. My students face a variety of challenges and my hope is to be able to provide them with experiences that I know they will not get outside of the school day.
My Project
The materials I am requesting are seven sets of science theme books. These themes cover many topics that my third through fifth grade students will learn throughout the year. In the course of the year, we will cover force and motion, matter, life cycles and so much more!
By having a super science library, we can incorporate reading and writing in science! My students will be able to extend their learning and I will be able to use the texts to build background, especially for my English language learners!
If you choose to support this project, you will be helping to put books in my students' hands.
The addition of these thematic science books will help to extend the learning that is taking place in class.
