This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at a Title I school in which most of the students come from low-socio economic backgrounds. My class is composed of enthusiastic, hard working, and talented students.
I would like to instill the love of science in my students by having them conduct fun and engaging science experiments.
My Project
The design and play STEAM activities will help develop science concepts as students learn in a fun, creative, and engaging way.
Most importantly, it will help spark interest in the sciences and motivate my students to pursue a career in STEM.
There’s no better way to learn the scientific method and science concepts through actively engaging in the process itself.
My students will be able to see the concepts come to life before their eyes as they create and test out their models and improve them using the scientific method. Help me give my students the joy of discovery and learning through engineering and design.
By building and designing balloon powered cars, boats, and planes my students will develop skills in problem solving, creativity, force and motion, and cause and effect. All these skills are essential for students to build the tools and confidence to tackle any challenge.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
