Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This is my first year teaching, and I am starting at the end of the year and during a pandemic. Phew! My students are amazing kids that come to the classroom with so many life experiences I even as an adult have not encountered. The science lab is their safe space and I am trying to make this a space for them to come and be excited to learn.
My Project
My students come to me needing some basic supplies for daily learning. These supplies will all be used to help students set up their own individual science notebook they will use throughout the entire year in class. They will each have their own scientific journal (composition notebook) separated by the tabs for each of the units for the year. They will use the markers, colored pencils, and pencils throughout the units to take notes or create drawings in their journal. This will be something they will take with them into 8th grade upon the completion of the year.
This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
