Scientific Explorations for Eager Early Learners

Help me give my students a variety of effective tools for exploring science in the classroom! I am hoping to purchase two microscopes and pre-made slides as well as an experiment kit the whole class can use.

My Students

My students are a playful, creative and thoughtful group of 3-5 year olds with a variety of learning abilities. Coming from diverse backgrounds, my class includes a mixture of both typically developing students and exceptional students.

With these materials, my students will gain an excellent foundation in scientific exploration.

Observation is one of the best ways we can learn about the world around us. Being able to expand our observations with scientific tools that allow us to see things closer and from different perspectives allows us to learn even more in depth.

My Project

These tools will continue to enhance the learning rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom is a place that my students really enjoy. Not only do they enjoy playing with friends and building with blocks each day, they also enjoy making observations and discoveries independently. I strive to provide my classroom with a variety or learning experiences and tools so my students can continue to love each day that they come to school and learn new things.

With these new tools, my students will have access to a level of scientific discovery previously unavailable to them.

The students in my class are quite young, which means that they already have an innate interest in all that is going on around them. I believe that the best way to build on this interest in learning is to provide as many subjects for exploration as possible. It is my hope that throughout their time in my classroom, I can provide a wide variety of learning experiences and materials in order to foster this interest in learning for many years to come.
