My Students

My students are a lovable set of kids who enjoy life! Many come from difficult situations and tough neighborhoods where there are a lot of factors pulling them in every direction to do the wrong thing.

When they come to school, it is often difficult for them to switch into learning mode without the right tools and materials.

As a school, we hope to help our students by giving them an excellent foundation for their further education. My students hold high hopes for their futures, and I hope to equip them so they will hold themselves to high expectations for life.

My Project

Middle school students often struggle with math computations. Calculations during class time can slow our daily progress. Our focus in science is learning the relationships between variables, such as F=ma or Celsius and Fahrenheit, rather than "how to do math."

Access to scientific calculators can reduce frustration and increase proficiency.

My goal is to help my students understand how every variable effects the world around them. This generation of adults is use to having technology easily accessible. Students have basic calculators in their phones however, our school policy is "cell phone free" to help students focus on learning instead of Instagram.
