This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Changes in the Earth! Electricity and Magnetism! Life! These are the 4th grade Science standards that will inspire the students in my class in the creation of art.The processes of making art will mirror scientific processes. We will use observation, animation, sketching, dramatization and more!

I love my 4th grade classroom, full of loving and bright students!

Our inner-city school has been under-resourced for decades. While we may not have all the resources as other schools, our students and families make our school a beautiful place. Year after year, I am floored by my students' creativity and talent for artistic expression. For that reason, I excitedly enrolled myself in a series of professional developments on integrating Art into the Science curriculum. My hard-working students deserve the highest quality instruction in Science and Art, two areas that are severely underfunded in our pubic schools.

My Project

With your help, my students will have access to the basic materials they will need as scientists and artists. They will use the sketchbooks to make scientific and artistic sketches. They will also be able to keep track of their scientific and "I wonder..." questions. The art materials will allow them to explore their creativity and to develop their inspirations and questions into pieces of art. And finally, the lab materials will keep students safe as we engage in scientific and artistic exploration and investigation.

Please donate to this project so that my students will have access to these resources and materials.

Without your support, it will not be possible for us to implement the Science and Art integration program that I was trained in because these materials are not provided to us by our schools. Without your help, we will only have access to No. 2 pencils and lined paper. Your help will open up a world of inspiration for my students and help them to realize the artists and scientists that they are.
