My Project

My students are curious, bright, and opinionated. They love to read and form opinions about the world around them. I will use the Science World and Junior Scholastic magazines so they can continue to develop and hone their reading comprehension and critical thinking skills while learning more about different science and social studies topics through current and historical events.

Science World exposes student to a variety of scientific principles and discoveries and Junior Scholastic exposes students to a variety of perspectives and views of events.

COVID has impacted our students in a variety of ways. These magazines will help students learn more about the world around them and further develop their critical thinking skills. The articles encourage students to think deeply about what they are reading and how events have come to shape and change our world. Each magazine includes information about formulating debates, supporting ideas with evidence, and inspecting arguments. These skills will help students to become critical thinkers and better scientists and citizens.
