Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Basic supplies are a necessity in a low impoverished community. My students are constantly sharing scissors, rulers, and glue. It is a time consuming feat.
Due to the lack of funding our over-populated school, was unable to purchase basic supplies for our students.
Our school is composed of three different campuses that host approximately 1400 students all together.
Our community is composed of 1st generation Americans - mostly of Mexican decent. Some of our students are homeless and 98% of our students receive free lunch.
Our students are amazing - we've had above average attendance regardless of the 105 degree room temperatures. They adapt well to any circumstance and are extremely hard workers. I am proud to be their teacher.
My Project
All these supplies will cut project time in half. Everyone will be able to do their jobs at the same time. All students will be engaged and excited to learn with all their peers.
Color pencils, markers, scissors, glue, construction paper are all needed to display their group projects, to show what they've learned without the regular pencil paper exams. These supplies are needed to engage and excite learning.
