This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This Donors Choose project will help my students get hands-on science experience inside the classroom. My students have loved learning this year, but have not had the tools that could bring them to the next level. These anatomy aprons help my students wear and attach organs to help them see it on themselves. It gives my students a better understanding of where on their bodies the organs are. Having a human body model in the room with parts the kids can manipulate will help them to learn the parts, as well. Continuing with learning about our bodies, you also need to know how to maintain a healthy way that you eat, so having the felt food pieces to put into the correct categories with help foster the correct nutritional goal.

Using the kid friendly microscopes with slides will help my students better understand how things are classified, along with using magnifying lenses to look for items.

Because many of my students come from lower-income families. They come to school and learn from their experiences. It is my job as their teacher to give them that experience.

The life cycle models could be a great resource for the students to see how they begin and end. It also helps for those learners that need to touch materials to learn, kinesthetic learners. Having a limited classroom budget makes it hard to purchase these supplies. This project will ensure that my students have a quality resource that they will use every day of the school year!
