This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

There is nothing like the sparkle in the eyes of little people experiencing science concepts for the first time. This is what fuels my day! My lab has very limited supplies. You can be the one responsible for smiles and squeals of joy and excitement in an elementary school lab!!

My students come from low economic homes.

Over 90% are on free or reduced lunches. The neighborhood is classified as a low economic community. The school has limited supplies. Yet the drive and potential of each student should not be suppressed. The sky is the limit is what they should believe. The kids at my school are caring and hard working. You can help dramatically with your donation! The kids will soar to unlimited heights.

My Project

These materials will serve as engaging activities for all grade levels to capture their attention, as I introduce science concepts. In some cases they will serve as center activities that will reinforce previous learning. My kids will really flourish this donation. The materials I requested, such as magnets, force and motion games and materials, matter explorations and pocket charts to enrich vocabulary, will increase excitement and allow every child to have equipment and materials to touch and manipulate individually as they explore within center group activities. Our materials are depleted. The kids all deserve a chance to see science in a positive way. I look forward to setting up small group activities equipped with ample materials instead of whole group. I feel the kids will retain more content knowledge with individual explorations. You can be the one to make this happen!

My school did not reach our goal in science last year.

We need every bit of support to reach our district's expectation for our school. Learning begins when a student is engaged and the teacher is fully equipped. New supplies will make a great impact.
