Science Through The Eyes Of Technology

My Students

A Chinese Proverb once said, "Do not confine your children to your own learning, for they were born in another time." I want to see their faces light up when they see how much fun science can be. I want to be able to show them the wonders of science not just tell them.

My students are energetic, technologically-savvy ninth and tenth graders.

They do not like to learn by just a textbook, they want hands-on projects that engage all their senses. Our school encourages them to be leaders and to fight for social justice. Our students do not complain because resources are low they fight to make it right. My students are leaders not just in the classroom but in their communities as well. I want my students to be able to see all aspects of science and ways that they can help improve the planet. All it takes is one person to make a difference and it could be any number of my students that do.

My Project

A projector is in high demand in our classroom it provides a way for students to create interactive presentations to share with the class. Our students can see pictures, watch video clips, and engage in activities that help better their understanding of the subject. My students will not just see a picture of a frog dissection they will get to help participate in one using an interactive software. Providing technology in our classroom helps to foster a learning environment that is engaging.

David Warlick said, "We need technology in every classroom and in every student and teacher's hand, because it is the pen and paper of our time, and it is the lens through which we experience much of our world." It is true everything we do revolves around technology.
