My students need a HP Pavilion Laptop and wireless speaker to connect it to a projector to show science experiment videos. The laptop we had was so obsolete it no longer works.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are excited about doing science experiments or being part of the science club. They have had little science exposure so they are eager to learn.
My students go to a public elementary school in Florida.
We are a Title I school, as a majority of the students are on free or reduced price lunch. A large population of our students are ESOL 1 so they are non- English or limited English speakers. Although our school is predominately Hispanic, we do have students from many non-Hispanic countries. All of them are, however, very eager to learn and explore the scientific world.
My Project
My Project: Having an working laptop in class, which can be connected to an LCD projector, would help my students tremendously! I would be able to stream science videos from Discovery Education and other science websites, in both English and Spanish, as well as show experiments done by students in other classes. With limited science supplies and antiquated equipment, these lessons would be very beneficial.
My students are so hungry for science knowledge and have not had the opportunities many other children have. This laptop will help them reach their potential. By incorporating different learning techniques such as videos and power point presentations, I am sure each student will learn in their own way and have success in science.
Having a laptop that can downstream videos will enable students who have language or learning difficulties "see" the material being taught, where in a different setting, they may not understand the concept.
Using the laptop to downstream videos from Discovery Education or NASA as well as doing science experiments using Gizmos will enable ALL students to learn and reach their potential.
