Science Teacher Desperate to be Creative! Part I

Help me give my students Please help me give my students the art supplies they need, especially paintbrushes of different sizes and textures, to bring their urban designs to life!

My Project

Students in most of the biology department classes are assigned projects in class that allow them to show their knowledge creatively but we are desperately low on art supplies - particularly paintbrushes of different sizes and textures - to help their vision come to life!

Urban Ecology students build 3D models of their urban design plans, the genetics students make posters about mitochondrial diseases and the freshman biology classes create campaign ads for the best organelle in Cellville election!

These posters help to create an environment in which learning is dynamic and exciting.

I love those moments when I am walking down the hallway and I see students reading one of the posters on the wall or exploring the street design of one of the Urban Design Models! These projects help facilitate learning beyond our classroom and the students we may teach.
