My Project
I am a Special Day Class Teacher and I work with students diagnosed with Moderate Autism. I am working on developing a science curriculum that will be accessible to them through the use of visual supports, adapted language, and hands on experiments.
My goal for this project is to bring science into my classroom in a safe, fun, and interactive way that will both engage and enrich my students in a way that is tailored specifically to them and their unique learning needs.
My students are special and unique in many ways, but the area with the most emphasis is how they think and learn. They often require hands on engagement and visual supports to interact with their content and the world around them, and I plan to use these resources to create an accessible and long lasting science curriculum for my classroom.
