My students need hands on activities to learning important science topics. We would love to focus going green and different things they can do to save the planet as well as dig deeper into life cycles.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Akwaa's classroom raised $848
This project is fully funded
I work in a high needs School district where students struggle to learn and retain information. I currently teach in an integrated second grade classroom with students with special needs.
Students struggle to really get grasp on the information taught to them in school. For some reason when we do hands on science or any activities students seem to have this fire in their eyes and hunger to learn. But to be able to give them and fuel their fire we need materials which are not provided for us. Some students have a clear understanding of the impact they have on this planet but others don't. We hope that this year through the funding of this project we will be able to show students their connection to Earth and how they can help save it through hands on study of pollution and life cycles.
We need hands on activities which require many different materials to create a classroom based on hands on learning to help students to retain and create a learning environment where they learn as they interact. This year we plan on focusing on making students aware of the many things they can do to help our the Earth through lab activities such as taking a look through weather stations on how the weather works, taking a close look at how pollutants hurt the Earth such as water pollution through the use of a pollution kit as well as focusing on life cycles and how we are all connected on this planet.
Your help will ensure that my students will be in a classroom where their fuel for learning is through hands on activities. These students are more visual learners and with hands on activities they will be able to learn and express their new learning to others including their parents. Students will get a more hands on experience on how they are connected to this planet and how what they do can have a great or negative effect in the sense of how to stop pollution. Please take the time to fund this project as it will be an eye opening experience for my students as well.
