My Students

We will, we will ROCK you! Let's explore rocks and minerals with hands-on materials so we can dig deeper and learn!

We are a second through fifth grade school in a low economical area.

My students are a really sweet group and love to learn. Of our students, 75% of them are being served with free or reduced lunch. My students are eager to please but often lack support at home to study or read. Hands-on activities provide them with an exciting learning experience to remember.

My Project

I am requesting items for my rocks and minerals unit. I am asking for hands-on experiments and activities to enhance the current unit that I have. The materials will include rocks, fossils, and minerals to allow the students to see real examples. I am also asking for a CD to enhance the lessons on rocks. There will also be materials that will allow the students to conduct experiments on different rocks and minerals.

I feel that these materials are so important to enhance my students' learning.

They need hands on learning to promote the concepts and allow them to manipulate items and their own learning.
