My Students

The students in my kinder classroom are students who get excited about learning and growing. They show great excitement and become very engaged when they are able to use manipulatives and other tools for hands-on engagement. Our district is currently working on getting teachers and students together in our classroom again, and many of my students are excited to return to our school building.

Our school is a Title I school and many of my students may not always have all their economic, physical, and social needs met, but they are always excited, engaged, and ready to learn.

They can often be heard saying, “I love school!“

We are scheduled to go back into our building for face-to-face learning in a few weeks. I want to ensure that my students can focus on learning in a safe and fun-filled environment. Having this PPE can help provide another step to ensure that we are all safe and can concentrate on exploring, learning, and growing.

My Project

Science can be wonderful, when taught right! I am still teaching from the computer screen due to COVID-19, so I sit in my classroom while my students are still in the comfort of their homes. I have been trying to make science as hands-on and as engaging as possible, but it has certainly been tricky to do so through a computer screen.

The goal of this project is to get the children outside for science when possible, but provide materials such as magnifying glass, slime and more to learn science indoors!

The project is requesting child face shields for them to wear and feel protected against pollens and other unknowns while exploring their environment for at home science class. The candy rock will be provided to them to coincide with the unit on dirt and rocks coming up and the slime will assist with other scientific exploring.
