This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Orton Gillingham phonics instruction provides students with a multi-sensory approach to their phonological development. Providing students with different writing materials and surfaces helps them practice their reading and writing skills in different ways.
It is our goal to have 100% of first grade students reading on grade level by the end of first grade.
Having resources such as writing boards, and colored crayons to mark up words will help increase student engagement and improve their reading skills.
Out fantastic students are not only learning to read and write, many of them are also learning English. They have already grown so much this year and I know with your support, we can get them where they need to be before second grade.
