Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

How can students learn about animal structures through books alone? I'd like my students to examine real animal specimens and make their own discoveries! I would also like my students to understand electricity as a form of energy, and conduct classroom-safe experiments!

My students are eager learners who would love to use hands-on materials to enhance their understanding of difficult, scientific concepts!

Having access to real animal specimens, along with information about the animals, would make their learning come alive! My students can also develop their understanding of electricity through safe experiments with batteries, to create a simple circuit. Such activities require real materials that provide much more in-depth scientific understanding.

My Project

My students will be using the Hands-On Science Specimen Centers and the Electricity Activity Lab to conduct experiments in the classroom. They can learn all about matter and energy in the form of electricity. My students will fully understand batteries as an energy source. They can also build and design circuits and discover what objects require electricity to make them work. In addition, my students will investigate real animal specimens to make discoveries about their different characteristics and how they are able to adapt to their different environments.

My students are bright, capable, and enthusiastic.

They love science and making new discoveries. I want them to have the opportunity to solve problems through experimentation, just like real scientists! I hope to motivate them to continue their love of science!
