Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am working on improving my students' imitative skills (which is a necessary prerequisite for language acquisition) and understanding of motor sequences. I will use the magnet tiles, a high interest item, to help improve my non-speaking students' imitative skills. They can learn about patterns and the magnetic properties of the tiles. I will use the life cycle manipulatives to help increase my students' understanding of life cycles and to help with sequencing life cycles. The microscope and other materials will give my students greater access to the educational curriculum.
I believe these Science materials will help my students increase their understanding of science concepts and improve their functional communication skills.
