My Students
As a teacher, I enjoy seeing the academic success of students. I work in a high-poverty, high-minority school where many of my students struggle with academic success especially in the area of Math and Science.
They are a highly enthusiastic group of children who thirst for knowledge.
Science concepts can be difficult to understand, but imagine how my students would love and comprehend the science that can be supported with the addition of hands-on learning centers that reinforce the curriculum.
Our students come from very diverse backgrounds. Many students have families that struggle to make ends meet, but even with these struggles at home, our students strive to be the best. We have students with learning disabilities at varying degrees, Autism, and other health problems that hinder their learning. I also serve many students that English is their second language and even students who don't speak any English at all.
My Project
The materials will enable all students to explore their creativity and improve their academics in Science and Math content skills. The students will have great opportunities to learn through making and building using 3D pens regardless of their learning style and ability. When you give to this project, you foster rigorous levels of thinking that push students into higher levels of STEM learning and engagement. When students explore STEM, it not only helps them to make real-world connections to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math programs but STEM as a career.
