Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have a wonderful group of fourth graders that need more books on Science. They are eager and curious about how things work. Our students do not have access to the library/media center within our building for various reasons. With these books, students will have the opportunity to use our classroom library when they come to school, free of charge, and can continue learning the content in different ways that stimulate their passion for the earth and space sciences.

Reading science books will improve their critical thinking ability as well as increase the knowledge of science facts and information.

By using children's literature in the science classroom, students have an opportunity to practice making connections, which can help them comprehend text and relate their background knowledge to what they read.
