Science Labs for All Kids

My students need new Force & Motion and Simple Machines science lab kits and a teaching chart stand.

My Students

Science should be fun and science should be challenging. Science must be taught in such a way that students form a life long love of the subject matter and hopefully pursue a career in the science field.

I have 103 diverse learners who are taught using a hands-on, inquiry, science curriculum.

My young learners vary; some students live with their grandparents, some are military families, and some live with one parent. Our school has many nationalities represented. My students are high achieving, yet, from various different economic backgrounds. Our school is considered to be a school of need according to the number of students that qualify financially for free lunch programs. My students love to learn. They enjoy hands-on labs where they can create products or explain and explore why things occur.

My Project

The Lakeshore science kits focusing on the different curriculum areas will support hands-on, meaningful, science activities. The Force & Motion and Simple Machines science kits will be used for labs. All of the supplies will be stored in the science teacher's room. Students will also be able to conduct experiments and make observations as they work through the scientific process with the materials requested. The teaching cart will allow for me to remove the limitations of only teaching inside my classroom. Some days, I will be able to teach in the gym or even outside on warm days.

My students will use the supplies to grow in science as a content area and strive to achieve their very best- defying the odds set against their generation to become more than just ordinary.

This is my wish and goal for all of my students.
