My school's population is made up of a diverse group. We have such an amazing community of family, teachers, neighbors, and friends.
My students are my priority.
From 8:00-3:00, I have the privilege of being their mommy, doctor, nurse, counselor, coach, and more. I am so lucky to have such wonderful students. My students want to be here. They work hard and appreciate our wonderful school. We are a Title I school and more than 75% of our students are from low-income households, so anything you can do to help is appreciated beyond measure.
Due to virtual learning, I have an unknown amount of time to wait for my students' return, and I want to start preparing now for the most fun, engaging science labs!
My Project
Even though it has been a rough start to the year, I am so looking forward to being back in the classroom with my little scientists. This is the first year I’ll be teaching science, and I have made a few projects to create my own science lab in my classroom. When we return to the classroom, from distance learning, I would like to use these materials to enhance project based learning and foster a love of science in my second graders.
I will be teaching math and science only, and would love to turn my classroom into a second grade stem center with tons of science and math resources!
All of the items I have chosen will contribute to experiments, and exploration in my budding scientists. Thank you so much for your help in creating the stem lab in my classroom.
