Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our classroom is full of books, different types of technology, flexible seating, and music. Students are able to switch seats and complete their work all over the classroom, wherever and however they are most successful.
My students are a great group of students who love to move, create, learn, ask questions, and occasionally make a mess in the classroom.
I am lucky enough to have two classes of 4th graders of science. Whenever we have a lab to complete in class, you can sense the excitement from everybody, including myself.
My Project
My students love science labs and activities at school. Every time we start a new lab, my students start chatting excitedly and their enthusiasm is contagious. My students are so excited for the Electromagnetism and Force and Motion labs and can't wait to use the Real World Stem Challenge kit at home and in the classroom.
I can just imagine how much they would love having a variety of science labs that they can check out and take home with them over the weekend.
I teach two periods of 4th grade science and having science activities that can support student learning outside the classroom would be amazing. The folder game and science sorts will also be great "early finisher" activities to use in class. Several of my students really thrive in the science setting and I know that having activities to keep their imagination going would be a great addition.
