My Project
My fifth graders are an amazing group of diverse students! They come from mostly middle-class and lower socio-economic households. My school is a Title I school with many students who qualify for assistance.
My students are eager to learn, love to be hands-on, and each one comes to me with a variety of individual needs.
I strive to give them authentic experiences in science that will engage and challenge them. Hands-on learning in science promotes organizational skills, research skills, analytical thinking, critical thinking, curiosity, and creativity.
Owl pellets will be used in a unit to teach about food chains, energy, and animal adaptations. I know that my curious students will absolutely love dissecting them! Other materials in this project will help facilitate the dissection and organize animal bones.
