Help me give my students an amazing full color science notebook that they can record observations inside the classroom and outside in nature.

My Students

I teach 70 amazing and scientifically minded 5th graders.

I am so lucky to be able to teach them science all day on a rotating schedule.

My students are great kids that mostly come from a low socioeconomic level and their abilities range from high to low but about 50% of the grade is below level in reading. This has not stopped their imaginations.

They love to create and conduct experiments in science. In my classroom I try to teach lessons that incorporate hands-on learning because they are able to be successful in that area.

My Project

My students love to learn about science but through the pandemic we had to do all our learning digitally. Students need to work in a science notebook to connect the science concepts. This hands on book can help them develop both observation and communication.

Recording observations is a key component of science and my students use art to do it.

Science notebooks are a practice of scientists throughout time and I want my students to create them using color to spark a the creative process and out of the box thinking.
