Science for Visual and Tactile Learners

Help me give my students 13 science posters to reinforce tough topics, a storage bag to keep them in good condition, large post-it easels for students to create their own science posters, and two interactive cell models.

My Students

Seeing students excited about science has been the greatest gift since joining DonorsChoose.org. Your donations make hands-on learning and inclusion a reality in my classroom!

We are a rural, low-income school district surrounded by farmland, which many students live and work on.

Many of my students are tactile or kinesthetic learners who enjoy being able to get out of their desks, move around, work with their hands, experiment, and create things. I also have a unique group of learners with special needs who often require modified instruction to achieve success in our science class.

My Project

I believe in surrounding students with science and making content relevant to them. The posters in this project will allow students to see examples and extensions of what we are learning about, reinforce tough concepts, and make our classroom colorful and inviting. The post-it easels will be used by students to make their own posters of the content they are learning. They will be able to express their own creativity while demonstrating content knowledge. The cell models will allow students to manipulate the cell parts and better remember them since understanding cells is a core concept that is required for deeper understanding throughout our Biology course. The storage bag will allow me to keep the posters in good condition when they are not in use so they can be reused for many years to come.
